King of Everything

This piece depicts an original character of mine named Maeve Baltas, laying in her bed with her cat listening to a song called King of Everything by Dominic Fike. This piece is important to me because it’s one of the first pieces I made with no references from online sources such as Pinterest, Google, etc. I took a photo of my own room at the time for inspiration, and another of myself and my cat for the poses. I’m proud of myself for being able to create my own references myself without relying on the work of others, and for filling in any gaps the references couldn’t on my own. I also like to look back on this piece to see how the evolution from this style into my current style you’ll see going forward, and how this experience of relying on my own creativity to complete a piece lead me to a new way of expressing myself artistically.
